Trystin Cote

PhD Student

After graduating from The University of Connecticut with a BSE in Biomedical Engineering in Spring 2023, Trystin joined our lab as a PhD student in Fall of 2023. His research focuses on on-Earth and in-space manufacturing of nucleic acid delivery vehicles to treat diseases in hard-to-penetrate tissues like cartilage. He combines nanoparticle engineering with animal models and joint-on-a-chip platforms to develop and screen gene therapies for musculoskeletal and inflammatory diseases. When he’s not in the lab, Trystin enjoys advocating for the inclusion of LGBTQ+ perspectives in biomedical research, gardening, DIYing, and spending time outside!
